About The Library Adventure

I wanted to give a shout out to my new friends over at The Library Adventure. This blog started at the beginning of the school year, and it’s building up to serve as a great resource for my family. As a family who frequents the library quite often, it’s easy for me to slide into ruts with our routines and with our book selection. The Library Adventure keeps me from doing that.

The Library Adventure is a contributor blog, so I can get ideas from several different perspectives: other moms, librarians, teachers, and special education specialists. Here are a few of my favorite posts so far:

1. Book Lists

Whether you are studying a particular unit with homeschooling, or maybe you just have a kid obsessed with monsters, the book lists provided by The Library Adventure are sure to please. Plus, you can even download a printable list to take to the library with you! Genius. Check out these posts:

2. Book Activities

Whether it’s having a Practically Perfect Tea Party with Mary Poppinsmaking actual long stockings while reading Pippi Longstocking, or pretending to be momma and daddy penguins with Mr. Poppers Penguins, The Library Adventure contributors have awesome ideas for hands-on activities to accompany your favorite books.

3. Library Adventures

As the blog name suggests, the contributors at the Library Adventure love spending time at the library. We love promoting, reading, reviewing, and even sniffing books. We love exploring shelves, chatting it up with librarians, and utilizing resources the local library has to offer. Library: We’re Your Biggest Fans! My role at The Library Adventure is to write adult book reviews (I’ve written two so far: The House at Riverton and Jim Henson: The Biography). Please feel free to suggest books for me to read or kinds of books you like to read. I want to provide a wide variety of book suggestions and genres for parents looking for a good book. Please check out The Library Adventure: Join our community on Facebook and Twitter, and you do not want to miss The Library Adventure on Pinterest. Vicki Arnold, the blog’s founder and fearless leader, rocks the house on Pinterest, providing all sorts of resources from across the web.

Check out The Library Adventure, and come join in the library love!
